Two days before our yearly drive from Lombard to Oberlin, Ohio, I was writing our packing list and zooming into Google Maps, trying to find the right places to stop.
Then we arrived, and I was searching again—for dinner, smoothies, açaí, and things to do while Dad was at work. The planning didn’t end when the drive did.
